Solution for (Lenovo) Shutdown Problem

A few weeks ago I had a problem with my laptop. After the downgrade OS from Vista to Xp and install some programs, my laptop (Lenovo) have this problem. Every time i turn off the laptop, it hangs on message - 'Windows is shutting down'. Sometimes, it shuts down without any hang but at the end of shut down, a hard 'tic' sound comes up and then it shuts down, but more often hang and must be turned off with pressing the power button.
I have found this answer but it didn't solve the problem..
"Shutdown problems in Windows XP can be caused by many factors, These included: a damaged exit sound file; incorrectly configured, damaged, or incompatible hardware; conflicting programs, or an incompatible, damaged, or conflicting device driver...."I need real action... and finally I discovered the following ways.
Unchecked the option in USB RootHub under the power management tab. ( You can locate the USB RootHub in device manager )
1. Click Start, Control panel and System.
2. Under the System Properties window, Select Hardware then click Device Manager
3. Click USB Root Hub, select Power Management and Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power."
4. I do it in all my USB Root Hub (7).
